Technology transfer is a growing enterprise at SIUC, with more than 90 inventions disclosed in the past five fiscal years alone. In conjunction with the developing
Southern Illinois Research Park, we are bringing those inventions to the marketplace.

Tech transfer activities are coordinated by the Office of Research Development and Administration (ORDA). These activities include evaluation, protection, marketing, and license negotiations for inventions and other intellectual property covered by SIU's Intellectual Property Policy. Working closely with the faculty, staff, or student inventor, ORDA assesses the commercial feasibility of inventions, files patent applications as appropriate, and develops strategies to transfer the technology to industry for the benefit of the public. To disclose an invention, see the contact information below.

Visiting businesses should check the Available Technologies page. Faculty and students should check Managing Your Intellectual Property. For an overview of research at SIUC, see the Research Profile.
