Arriving in the Mexico City Airport on Your Way to Oaxaca

1. The airport is one long building. One end is international and the other end is national.
2. You do not go outside to get to the opposite end of the terminal.
3. Everyone arriving on an international flight must go through immigration.
4. Everyone may not go through customs in Mexico City. You will go through customs in Oaxaca on arrival if your baggage was checked through to Oaxaca.
5. After clearing immigration and/or customs in Mexico City, you will go to the national side of the airport to wait for your flight to Oaxaca.
6. Everyone waiting for a national flight will be in one large waiting room.
7. You watch the departure screen for your flight to Oaxaca to appear.
8. Only when your flight appears on the screen, about half an hour before departure, you will know the gate number, usually in Wing B. You can then proceed to the departure gate.

Returning to the Mexico City Airport on Your Way Home

1. You will arrive in the national wing of the airport in Mexico City.
2. You will check in at your airline and receive your boarding pass, check your luggage, and return your immigration card.
3. You will walk through to the international wing located on the second floor.
4. You will go through a security gate en route to the International side after you check your luggage.
5. You do not go through customs until you return to the United States-first port of entry.
6. Once again you will watch the screen to find out which international gate your flight leaves. Your boarding pass should have the information as well.
