Grades are based on the percentage of total points earned versus total points available from attendance, homework, quizzes, exams, and project.
A = 90 to 100%
B = 80 to 89%
C = 70 to 79%
D = 60 to 69%
F = Below 60%
Attendance: Attendance is mandatory and will be recorded. If you have to be absent, please call (leave a message if I am not in) or email me as soon as possible. To be counted as present you must arrive on time, pay attention, and remain until dismissed. You will be counted absent if you:
· Disrupt the class by talking
· Are reading a newspaper
· Are working on a computer
· Are working on other material during class
· Are sleeping
Quizzes and in-class assignments CANNOT be made up.
Late work: Generally, late work will not be accepted. Missed exams can only be made up if arrangements are made prior to exam dates.

Project: The student will write a research paper and give a PowerPoint presentation describing an actual organization on which they have collected information by the use of interviews, questionnaires, or any other appropriate method of data collection.
Course Description:
This course is designed to familiarize the student with the functions and responsibilities of a manager that supports a product or service oriented business. Economic justification and cost control, personnel morale and motivation, quality control and program improvements, compliance with codes, equipment control and evaluation, and input to administration will be studied. In addition, there will be discussions and assignments designed to help students get a good start in an appropriate career, both financially and professionally.
