Bachelor of Science, Plant and
Soil Science, General Specialization
The general specialization is for those students who want to enter
careers in agricultural or horticultural production. In addition to
the required curriculum in plant and soil science, you may take courses in
agribusiness economics, animal science, food and nutrition, forestry,
agricultural education, and agricultural mechanization. (top)
Bachelor of Science, Plant and
Soil Science, Science Specialization
The science specialization is for those students who want integrated
training in theory and practice. This option requires more chemistry,
physics, and biological science than other specializations, to help you
prepare for technical careers and graduate-level research. (top)
Bachelor of Science, Plant and
Soil Science, Business Specialization
The business specialization is for those students who plan to work in
business and industry as sales representatives, managers, and owners.
In addition to plant and soil classes, you will take courses in accounting,
management, marketing, and agribusiness economics. (top)
Bachelor of Science, Plant
and Soil Science, Environmental Specialization
The Environmental Studies specialization concentrates on environmental
problems related to plants and soils. Careers with environmental
protection agencies, pollution control boards, and reclamation or natural
resource groups are open to graduates. Courses cover field crops,
soils, horticulture, and environmental problems. (top)

Soil Science, Landscape Horticulture Specialization
The Landscape Horticulture specialization is for those who are
interested in landscape design, installation, and maintenance.
Graduates may become involved in planning and maintaining public,
residential, and/or industrial areas, or even nursery production.
Course work in business, plant protection, and soils helps to provide the
