Research:
Shoot
forcing - By cutting sections from large branches and placing them
horizontally on flats filled with perlite, we are able to produce softwood
shoots for cuttings or tissue culture.
Woody
plant tissue culture - We are working on micro-propogation protocols for
adult Eastern Black Walnut (Juglans nigra), Oakleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea
quercifolia) and Hibiscus.
Seed
dormancy of White Ash - We are studying various techniques to overcome
dormancy of seeds of green and white ash (Fraxinus pennsylvanicu and
americuna).
