Research:
A bullet.Herbicide Evaluation Program - Field research is conducted to evaluate various herbicide products available in corn, soybean, and wheat. This information is used to build experience with the performance of the products to educate clientele on recommended uses.

A bullet.ISPOB Weeds Managed Area - The Weed Managed Area seeks to provide coordination of collaborating institutions and agencies in Illinois to develop, implement, and disseminate weed management practices and information which promote integrated pest management, the preservation of soybean yield potential, and the enhancement of profitability. This research is funded by the Illinois Soybean Program Operating Board.

A bullet.Evaluating corn GMO's for safety, equivalence, and environmental impact - Research is being conducted to examine the herbicide resistance characteristics of a genetically modified corn biotype to develop an improved understanding of the impact the transgene has in corn.

A bullet.Weed management in strip-till corn - Strip-till corn is gaining popularity as a compromise between no-till and conventional-till crop production. This research is investigating the influence of strip-till production on weed management strategies.

A bullet.Sudden Death Syndrome Research Program - Sudden death syndrome continues to be a management struggle for growers in the Midwest. Part of this research is investigating the interaction of herbicides and the growth and development of the causal agent for this disease. This research is funded by the Illinois Soybean Program Operating Board.

A bullet.Soybean cyst nematode interactions with other nematode species and tillage effects - Winter annual weeds have been documented as hosts for soybean cyst nematode. The trend towards reduced tillage crop production and fewer soil residual herbicides has resulted in more prevalent populations of winter annual weds. This research is investigating the connection between the presence of winterannual weeds and soybean cyst nematodes.
