Southern Illinois University at Carbondale
is located in the heart of Southern Illinois, amongst fields, bluffs,
forests, lakes, and other rural landscapes. This allows us to have one
of the most aesthetically pleasing campuses in the region. On campus
at SIU-C, you can stroll through Thompson Woods, take a leisurely walk (or
boat ride) around Campus Lake, or study in the quiet Kumakura Japanese
Garden. There is even a nearby arboretum!
Below are some photographs of our beautiful campus.
For a closer look at the campus for the College of Agricultural Sciences,
visit our tour page (the tour is currently under
construction!).
To the left is a stunning aerial photograph of the campus.
In the foreground is campus lake, with the tall Brush Towers residence halls
obvious in the background. The Thompson Point residence halls are to
the left of the lake, with Carbondale and the rest of the surrounding
landscape zooming away to the horizon.
Here
is the "signature building" of the Southern Illinois University, Pulliam
Clocktower, with the evening's full moon rising beautifully behind.
This photo can also be seen on the
University's Main Website.
This
is the building for SIU-C's College of Agricultural Sciences. It is
located just west of Thompson Woods near the Life Science buildings and the
Public Policy Institute, and just across the street from Thompson Point
residence halls. Our excellent greenhouses can be seen in the main
courtyard.
