CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
S. Morris Eames Scholarship Fund
For an annual award to a Doctoral student who has completed at least his or her first year. The recipient of this scholarship shall be selected by a committee of department of Philosophy faculty members appointed by the chair. An open application process shall be available to interested students. An individual may receive the award only once.

Dr. James A. Diefenbeck Endowed Scholarship Fund in Philosophy
Scholarship will be open to all applicants with the following qualifications, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age or veteran status: Must be enrolled full-time at SIUC, and majoring in philosophy;must be in academic good standing;May go to a graduate or undergraduate student; Preference will go to a worthy student with financial need.

Paul A. Schilpp Scholarship in Philosophy Fund
Income from this fund shall be used for an annual scholarship, payable half at the beginning of the Fall semester and half at the beginning of the Spring semester, to a graduate student majoring in philosophy. Any income credited to the account in excess of the amount awarded in any one fiscal year shall be invested, but retained in the income fund until needed as awards. The recipient of the award shall be recommended by the entire Philosophy Department faculty (not merely by a committee.) The recipient shall be chosen according to the following criteria: Superior or good in scholarship; Worthy in character; Preference given to a student with financial need; Most deserving all the way around; The Department shall provide application blanks and advertise the opportunity to students in an open process. (i.e. by announcements in classrooms and publicity in the press). The recipient shall be announced in the spring at a reception sponsored by the Department in his or her honor recognizing scholarship in the Department.
