A West Virginia native, Jennifer Presar currently is Instructor of Horn and Music Theory at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She holds a BM in theory and composition from the University of Illinois and a MM in horn performance from West Virginia University where she is currently working on her DMA. Her principal teachers include Virginia Thompson, Kazimirez Machala, and David Cottrell. She has participated and performed in master classes with Philip Myers, William Cabellero, and Dale Clevenger.
Before working on her graduate degrees, Jennifer worked in the marketing department at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of the University of Illinois and held the position of Box Office manager for the West Virginia Public Theatre in Morgantown, WV.
Active as freelance horn player, he has performed with the Chicago Chamber Orchestra, Paducah Symphony (KY), West Virginia Symphony, Wheeling Symphony (WV), Seneca Chamber Orchestra (WV), the Illinois Symphony, and others throughout Illinois, West Virginia, and Maryland. She is a founding member of Neoteric.
Jennifer is the faculty advisor for the SIU chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, the women's music fraternity and a member of the International Horn Society, College Music Society, and Chamber Music America.
