EST-343 will be performed primarily via an on-line course
delivery system called BlackBoard.

Students will purchase equipment and text to
perform the labs.

Lab questions are via BlackBoard.

The semester project will be assigned and graded by the
EST-342 instructor.

BASIC Stamp HomeWork Board.

Serial Communications Cable/USB.

PC running Windows or Windows emulation software.

"What's
a Microcontroller?" kit, parts and HomeWork Board combo - $99.99
NOTE: There is a new version of the text/kit:

It cleans up most chapters and helps explain
concepts.

It changes the parts from a photo-resistor to
photo-transistor.

It provides a USB adapter.

The old text/kit may still be used if you get
it used. If your kit needs USB adapter instead of using a serial COM port,
one may be purchased here:

to Serial adapter (Not all Serial/USB devices may
work, so this one is recommended).
The text, parts kit and HomeWork board and serial cable
are purchased as a kit. The HomeWork Board has an integrated controller with a
breadboard.
Requires a 9V battery not included.

It is hoped this new format will be a better instructional
method for programming, electronics and system design. If you have
children, this material is also a great resource for fun, learning and for
science projects.
If you plan on selling your text/kit to students in future
courses, please keep careful track of all materials and parts.
