†University Core Curriculum.  Total hours needed depends on transfer program and eligibility for Capstone Option.  Capstone reduces the UCC requirement from 41 hours to 30 hours.

Note: The above plan is based on a cumulative transfer gpa of 2.25/4.0 or higher and Capstone eligibility.  For more information, see http://registrar.siu.edu/eval/capstone.htm.

TRM Course Delivery

Many factors are considered when determining the delivery format and scheduling of courses.  These include the nature of the material being delivered, prerequisite requirements of the courses, and the schedule most conducive to the students’ availability.  The courses within this degree lend themselves to the following two methods.

Blended format: This delivery includes in-class instruction augmented with a strong online component.  The instructor is on-site twice per course with time in between to deliver Web-based instruction and to work on course projects.  At the beginning of the semester, students will come to the training facility for a 2-day session during which the instructor will lay the groundwork and get the classes well underway.  During Weeks 2 - 11, courses are supported with web-based.  In Week 12, students return to the training facility for two additional days of instruction.  During Weeks 13 and 14 of the course, students complete and deliver final course requirements to the instructor.

Fully on-line format:  A course that is fully on-line format is delivered via Blackboard and spans 16 weeks.  Course delivery and requirements stay aligned with a regular semester format.

Program Duration

The tentative schedule for course delivery includes one fully on-line course and two blended courses each semester, for a total of 3 major and specialization courses each semester. The major and specialization can be completed in 21 months. Students are responsible for working with the TRM advisor to coordinate completion of remaining degree requirements.
