International
Programs and Services (IPS)
Mission
The office
of International Programs and Services is the key institutional office
for promoting and coordinating international activities on the Southern
Illinois University Carbondale campus. Among the responsibilites of
this office are:
•International
Students and Scholars, including US Immigration Compliance for students
and visiting scholars, Foreign Student Advisement, and International
Undergraduate Student Admissions.
•Study
Abroad, including SIUC programs, coordination with ISEP, and Fulbright
Students.
•International
Development, including International Linkages, International Projects,
Fulbright Scholar Coordination, and International Student Recruitment.
Organization
The
unit is administered by the Director of International Programs and Services,
who reports to the Vice Chancellor-Student Affairs. Three Associate
Directors report to the Director, and several other full time professional
staff, support staff, graduate assistants and student workers report
through the Associate Directors.
Staff
members of the unit also work closely with other units on campus, including
the Center for
English as a Second Language, and the Graduate School on international
activities.
