The Department of Economics at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is pleased to host the 15^th annual meeting of the Midwest Econometric Group in Carbondale, Illinois. The meeting will begin at 1:00pm on Friday, October 14 and continue on Saturday, October 15 with sessions from 8:00am to 5:30pm. There is no registration fee but, as in past years, attendees pay their own accommodations and travel expenses. Dinner on Friday night, continental breakfast and lunch on Saturday, and coffee etc. will be provided at the meeting site free of charge to registered attendees. Saturday’s lunch will be served on the shores of the inspiring campus lake.

Submissions of papers for presentation will be accepted until July 15, 2005. Please e-mail an Adobe pdf file of the paper to meg2005@siu.edu as an attachment or send a copy of the paper via regular mail to: Subhash C. Sharma, Department of Economics, Mail Code 4515, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Carbondale, IL 62901-4515.

To register for the conference please fill out the online Registration Form electronically given on the web site, or fill the PDF registration form and mail it to Subhash C. Sharma. The registration must be received by September 15, 2005. Registration will start at noon on Friday in the lobby on the second floor of the Student Center at 1255 Lincoln Drive, Carbondale, Il 62901, on the Southern Illinois University campus. All sessions will be held on the second floor of the Student Center. The Student Center is also the location of the Friday night dinner. Free shuttle service between the hotels and meeting site will be available.

Travel: Please e-mail us at meg2005@siu.edu if you need to be picked you up from Williamson County Regional Airport or from Amtrak train station in Carbondale.

For accommodations, a block of rooms is being held at the Ramada Limited located at 801 North Giant City Road, Carbondale, 618-351-6611, for $69.00/night, and Best Inns of America located at 1345 E. Main Street, Carbondale, 618-529-4801, for $45.00/night. These rates are available for the evenings of Thursday, Friday and Saturday – October 13^th, 14^th and 15^th. The rooms at Ramada Limited are booked under “Sharma” or “Midwest Econometric Group” and the rooms at Best Inns are booked under “ECOCON”. Please mention these codes while booking rooms and make reservations prior to September 15, 2005. Due to busy weekend of October 14th and 15^thin Carbondale there may not be rooms available if you wait later than September 15^th.
