Transportation Options to Chicago
Traveling to the Truman College Technical Center can be either driving or Amtrak train. Both methods will take approximately 5 to 5 1/2 hours of travel time. The Amtrak option will take you to Union Station located in downtown Chicago. If driving to Chicago, please see driving directions below.
Getting Here
General Driving Directions- I-57 N toward Mt. Vernon, approximately 305 miles, to I-94 W. Depending on where your first destination will be (hotel, tech center, restaurant), I-94/90 is usually a good route to take. Please allow extra travel time during rush hours (7am-9am and 4pm-6pm M-F).
Amtrak leaves Carbondale twice on weekdays:
8:30am, arriving Union Station Chicago 2:00pm
4:05pm, arriving Union Station Chicago 9:35pm
