Ladies and Gentlemen,

Some of you may be aware that we have submitted a proposal to begin offering a Master’s degree in Fire Service and Homeland Security in Fall 2008. We believe it is a comprehensive degree that will meet the various needs of fire service personnel, as they advance through their career.

The program courses range from Terrorism/WMD to Legal/Administrative Law, and include courses in Emergency Management, Public Policy and Ethics, Executive Leadership, Dispute Resolution, and a three hour Practicum. The degree requirement is 39 semester hours and will be taught in a 5 weekend, 16 month format, similar to the format of our Bachelor’s Degree program. The difference will be that the second and fourth weekends will be conducted online, rather than in class, which will give the student a little more flexibility. The expected cost will be $250.00 per semester hour.

If you are interested in this degree, please click here to complete the online survey.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Gary Kistner , Program Coordinator
Fire Service Management
