Welcome to West Texas! As part of the SIUC team, we are looking forward to meeting and working with you.

Ground Transportation: You will need to make reservations prior to your arrival for a rental car. We recommend you contact the 800 numbers for Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National, or Sears. There are commercial taxis located at the Airport.

Return Flight: We have both Continental and American Airline service to San Angelo. American Eagle Airlines last departure on any Sunday evening is at 5:35 P.M. to Dallas/Ft Worth. Continental has one flight leaving Sunday afternoon at 4:25 P.M. The earliest flight with American Eagle on Monday morning is at 6:50 A.M. and Continental's earliest flight out on Monday is 5:30 A.M. 

Directions to Base: Exit the Airport parking lot and turn right, onto Knickerbocker Road and proceed 5 miles to Loop 306. Turn right onto Loop 306 and proceed 2.1 miles. Stay right on Loop 306 East for the Eldorado exit. Stay to the right and take the Goodfellow AFB/Country Club Road Exit. Turn right at the stop sign. Turn right at the bridge overpass to arrive at Old Christoval Road.  Turn left onto Old Christoval road and proceed 1.9 miles to the traffic signal at South Chadbourne Street. Turn right on S. Chadbourne Street and proceed 0.8 mile to the yellow flashing light, turn left to enter the Goodfellow AFB South Gate. At the South Gate, you will have to show a picture ID to the security guard. Please inform the guard that your name is on the list. Also, inform him the reason for being at the base. 

Base Pass : If you are active duty or retired military, please use your military ID to get on base. If you are civilian, the gate guards have your name on a cleared list for access to the base, they may ask to see your driver’s license. 

GAFB Angelo Inn : Your motel reservations are made by the SIUC office prior to the semester starting. These rooms are usually in the Visiting Officer’s Quarters. They are “La Quinta or Holiday Inn” equivalent or better. Rates are better than similar civilian motels and are about $25.00 a night per person.  Angelo Inn is located towards the middle of the base on the main road, Kearney Blvd. A picture identification and your SSN, is required to check in. Classroom Information: From the Angelo Inn parking lot, look to your left directly across Kearney Blvd. You will see the base gas station.  Directly behind the gas station is the Base Education Center, 281 Flightline Ave., Bldg 320. All classes are conducted in this building.       

Classroom Equipment: The classrooms are equipped with the following: a television, VHS/VCR, overhead transparent projector, and whiteboards. We also have laptop and projector. The laptop has both Windows XP and Microsoft Office XP installed.

Course Syllabus and Handouts: Copies of your Syllabus, handouts, tests, and classroom materials must be coordinated with Ms. Betty Bishop, OCAP office six weeks prior to your first class date for reproduction and shipment to our office.
