Progress Reports for Application Upgrade

Please Note: This and future progress reports are as of a point in time. Some of the information may change as we proceed with the upgrade. Reports are to be considered as one document to obtain the most current information.

August 9, 2006

• Several test upgrades have been successfully completed.  With each, the elapsed time to conduct the upgrade has been shortened.
  
  
• A new server has been purchased and installed to be used for additional testing of the upgrade process and will eventually become the Production server for AIS. 
  
  
• The latest upgrade has been performed on the new server with no hardware or operating system issues.
  
  
• A “Basic Functionality” test has been conducted by the Financial offices at all campuses.  As of this date, all major issues have been resolved.  All other testing was successful.
  
  
• Testing of the HRMS / Payroll applications continues by Carbondale and Springfield for each type of Payroll.
  
  
• Ad-hoc reporting is being addressed by AIS and Carbondale Accounting Services.  The result should be less complexity to create or modify user scripts.
  
  
• A final / dress rehearsal test upgrade is scheduled for mid-September.  This will be followed by a full Integrated test of all applications.  This test will be scheduled to be completed by November 3.
  
  
• The weekend of Thanksgiving has been targeted to conduct the actual upgrade of the AIS applications.  This will be done on a 24 X 7 schedule with a checkout period by the campus administrative offices prior to release to the general user base.
