Illinois workNet Business Services Coordinator (Chicago, IL)
Department of Workforce Education and Development

Description of Position: Illinois workNet Business Services Coordinator (100%) assigned to the Illinois workNet project of the Department of Workforce Education and Development at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Illinois workNet is a free, user-friendly online resource providing career, education, and work support information for all Illinois residents and business(http://www.illinoisworknet.com). 

Responsibility: The primary function is coordination and facilitation activities to develop the businesses component of the Illinois workNet portal and program. These activities include: convening/maintaining business advisory task forces; working with LWIA Business Services teams toward integration of Illinois workNet; co-developing process and criteria for "certifying" business services teams through online courses; working collaboratively on improvements to Illinois workNet Businesses pathway; publishing statewide content to business services portal; providing reports and conducting ongoing evaluation that measures implementation and integration of business services.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in workforce development, business, economics or related field. Minimum of one year experience in the following areas: knowledge of the workforce system and economic development in Illinois; working with statewide workforce development and economic development programs; web-based resource development; working with Illinois' high-growth industry sectors, public or private sector entities, and state or federal agencies responsible for workforce development; using a content management system to publish and maintain portal content; and technical writing experience. Preferred: Highly developed organizational and presentation skills; demonstrated expertise using programs in Microsoft Office Suite; experience using other software and technology-based support applications such as developing reports from databases; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Effective Date of Appointment: This is a term, non-tenure accruing position, located in Chicago, IL, to begin as soon as possible.
