Instructors/Lecturers
(Variable-Time)

Description of Positions:  Instructors/Lecturers in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction for Summer 2008, Fall 2008 and Spring 2009. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate teacher education candidates or graduate students in the area of middle level education at both on-campus and off-campus sites.

Responsibilities of the Position:  Teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in language arts education at both on-campus and off-campus sites.

Requirements of Candidates:  The rank of Instructor requires an earned Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction or related field; the rank of Lecturer requires an earned Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or related field.

    1. Persons applying for these positions must demonstrate:

        a. a broad interdisciplinary background with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction;

        b. knowledge and experience in the content area;

        c. oral proficiency in the English language as required by Illinois state law.

    2. Successful teaching experience at the K-12 school level is preferred.
