Description of the Position: Lecturer positions (variable percent of time) in the Department of Educational Psychology and Special Education to fill potential vacancies throughout the academic year 2007-2009.

Responsibilities of the Position: Teach courses at graduate level in counselor education.

Requirements of Candidates: The rank of Lecturer requires an earned Doctorate in Counselor Education or related discipline.

  1. Persons applying for these positions must demonstrate:
    a. a broad background with an emphasis in counseling education;
    b. knowledge and experience in the content area;
    c. oral proficiency in the English language as required by Illinois state law.
  2. Preference will be given to individuals with teaching and clinical experiences in couple
    and family counseling, school counseling, community counseling, and group work.

Effective Date of Appointment: Summer 2008 or Fall 2008 or Spring 2009 or Summer 2009

Appointment and Salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications. These are Non-tenure Track positions and do not lead to tenure. Prior to an offer of employment, a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a criminal background check, maybe required depending upon assignment.
