POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Visiting Assistant Instructor (Automotive Technology)
Off-Campus Academic Programs
 

The College of Applied Sciences and Arts at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) is seeking qualified applicants for anticipated positions of Visiting Assistant Instructor within the College's Office of Off-Campus Academic Programs (OCAP) for the Automotive Technology (AUT) program. Anticipated positions will begin August 2008. These are term appointments to teach undergraduate course(s) in a weekend format.

Courses to be taught include:

Alternative Fuels
Applications of Technical Information
Drivability & Emissions
Financial Management
Fixed Operations
Network Systems
Vehicle Stability and NVH
Warranty Administration


Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a major appropriate to the course(s) being taught required. Postsecondary teaching experience and/or related industry experience required. Ability to travel to specified location for teaching and to teach specified course(s) required.

Responsibilities: To teach undergraduate course(s) as indicated above. To provide appropriate personnel at the off-campus site with course syllabus, first reading assignment, and any required course handouts at least eight weeks in advance of assignment. To provide grades within specified deadlines. To maintain contact with Off-Campus Academic Programs for student inquiries and grading requirements for up to 12 months from last scheduled class meeting date.
