Dr. Kendra Humphreys
Adult Education Program Manager
Since 1999, Kendra has administrated and directed the Adult Education program at SIUC-EDC. She holds a PhD in Education from SIUC with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction (Interdisciplinary). Her active involvement in the promotion of Adult Education covers a wide list of experience, to include: Administrative Division Chair (2002- 2007), Chair of the Finance Committee (2005 - 2007) and President FY09 for IACEA - The Voice of Adult Education in Illinois; Chair, Area Planning Council; Member, Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) Technology Committee as well as a member of the Adult Education Advisory Council (2007 – 2008); Member, Commission on Adult Basic Education (COABE); and, Member of the Local Work Force Investment Board One-Stop Committee. As well, Kendra is a State Certified Teacher and Certified as a Learning Needs Resource Specialist. Additionally, her professional achievements have been recognized through her induction into the WHO's WHO of Professional Management and WHO's WHO of American Women.
Jeneane Martin
Intake Specialist/Assistant to Program Manager/Instructor – Basic Computer Skills (BCS) & Job Seeking Skills (JSS)
Along with being the intake specialist, Jeneane teaches BCS and JSS classes. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communication from SIUC. She is currently enrolled in graduate classes at SIUC where she is actively seeking a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling.
Casheena Stephens
Instructor - General Educational Development (GED)/ Basic Computer Skills (BCS)
Casheena teaches GED and BCS for the Adult Education Program. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from SIUC. She is currently enrolled in graduate classes at SIUC where she is actively seeking her Master’s Degree in Workforce Education and Development (WED) specializing in Adult Education. She has a passion for teaching and strives for excellence in it. She has helped many students succeed in achieving their GED.
William Miller
Instructor – Adult Basic Education (ABE)
Will, previously an ESL instructor for the Adult Education Program, is currently the Adult Basic Education (ABE) instructor. In addition to instruction, Will has been developing ESL and ABE curriculum for the program. He has a Bachelor’s degree in History and is currently a graduate student in Workforce Education and Development. Will’s specialty areas are in organizational and curriculum development.
Ashanta Wellington

Ms. Alice Mbugua
Instructor - English as a Second Language (ESL)
Alice comes to SIUC from Kenya and has lived in the United States since 1999. She is presently a Ph.D. student in Rehab counseling and administration. Her future plans are to return to Kenya to work with individuals in the field of alcohol and substance abuse.
Chacarie Petty
Student Employee
Chacarie is an undergraduate student at SIUC studying Psychology. She is a Sophomore in the College of Liberal Arts with the aspirations of becoming a Clinical Psychologist. She assists in the Adult Ed office and also assists the instructors in the Adult Education wing.
Ashley Jenkins
Student Employee
Ashley is a freshman at SIUC studying Biological Studies. She wants to become a pediatrician or a midwife. Ashley works in the Adult Education Office and assists the instructors.
Kimberly Stoll
Instructor – GED-i Online
Kimberly is the GED-I instructor for our Adult Education Program. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in University Studies from SIUC. Kimberly’s specialty areas include biological sciences and communication.
