ADULT EDUCATION

 

General Education Development (GED)

 

Wish you had received your High School Diploma? 

 

The Adult Education program at EDC offers free General Education Development (GED) preparation courses that are individualized to meet your individual learning needs.  The curriculum is presented in a variety of ways to accommodate those with special learning needs.  Instruction is also individualized, providing students with one-on-one instruction, guidance, and practice.

 

Classes are supplemented with state of the art computers, and students have access to GED practice software and GED Illinois Online.  Instructors will assess your learning needs and create a learning environment that will best suit your learning style.

GED Test Taking Preparation,
Individualized Instruction,
Reading,
Mathematics,
Social Studies,
Science, and
Writing.
 
Class Schedule:
 
Monday thru Thursday 9 am - 12 pm
Monday thru Thursday 1 pm - 3 pm
 
Testing Registration and Locations:

 

Note: In order to take the GED test, you must register at the Office of Superintendent of Schools located in the county in which you reside.  The locations are provided below:

Jackson County - Jackson County Courthouse, Murphysboro
Williamson County - Williamson County Courthouse, Marion
Perry County - Perry County Courthouse, Pickneyville
Franklin County - Franklin County Courthouse, Benton
 

Note: Adult Ed does not administer the GED test.  We are here only to prepare individuals to take the GED test at one of its designated areas on the specified day provided below:

SIU Carbondale - 1st Saturday of each month

John A. Logan CC - 3rd Saturday of each month (if you live in

     Williamson County)
