Division of Continuing Education

Division of Continuing Education administers the Off Campus courses offered by the colleges of SIUC and is the unit of record for Continuing Education Units. Assistance is provided to internal and external clients providing educational opportunities both credit and creditor throughout the region.

International Development

The International Development division provides University-wide leadership, coordination, and support for a wide variety of developmental activities. These activities include research and dissemination of information on external funding opportunities, maintenance of an international projects database and a resource library, development of grants and projects, coordination of international linkages and agreements, promotion of women in development activities, sponsorship of international development forums, and assistance with international visitors and protocol. Assistance also is provided in the exploration of project ideas, identification of funding sources, development of proposals, negotiation of contracts, and administration of externally funded activities.

The International Development division is located in the Northwest Annex (618/453-3070).

Office of Research Development and Administration

The Office of Research Development and Administration (ORDA), a unit of the Office of Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Dean, works to facilitate and promote research and sponsored project activities on campus. ORDA is the office through which grants and contracts for research, training, and service projects are applied for, negotiated, and accepted.

ORDA notifies faculty and staff of funding opportunities, offers grant proposal development services, and processes proposals and awards. It coordinates internal grant programs that provide resources for faculty and student projects, and it administers several facilities that provide support services to researchers. Finally, it plays a key role in formulating and monitoring SIUC policies governing research, sponsored projects, intellectual property, and technology transfer.
