Ed has served Intercollegiate Athletics and its’ student-athletes since 1979.
In his role as Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Conditioning, in conjunction with Chief of Sports Medicine Physician Dr. Rollin Perkins M.D. administrates SIUC’s comprehensive Sports Medicine Program. He supervises the Athletic Training staff of three full time assistants, four graduate assistants, and approximately 35 undergraduate athletic training students. Ed’s involvement as an Accredited Clinical Instructor within the undergraduate athletic training program affords him the opportunity to direct their clinical experiences and career development. Ed also supervises our outstanding Strength and Conditioning staff of two full time staff, and three graduate assistants.
In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Ed is Head Athletic Trainer and works directly with our Men’s Basketball and Baseball Programs. Ed also supervises Intercollegiate Athletics drug education and prevention program, and is SIUC’s Site Coordinator for the NCAA drug testing program.
Ed is a native of Marion, he married the former Jamie Ryan of Murphysboro, and they reside in Carterville with their children B.J. and Kacie.
