Andy Pettit was named Coordinator of Athletic and Arena Operations at Southern Illinois University in September of 2005.
Andy assists the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities in the coordination, set-up, administration, and tear down of events, as well as the day-to-day operations, of all of SIU’s athletic facilities including Abe Martin Field, McAndrew Stadium, Charlotte West Stadium softball complex, SIU Arena, Lingle Hall, and the Troutt-Wittmann Academic and Training Center.
Andy played a major part in the development of SIU’s Game Staff, an athletic department staff of more than 50 student employees that assist in the game day operations as ticket takers, parking attendants, program sellers, ushers, and field/court security in 2002. Game Staff is still under the direction of Andy, and supervised by the current graduate assistant of facilities.
Prior to accepting his current position, Andy was SIU’s graduate assistant to the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities from 2003-2005 and SIU athletic department student employee from 2000-2003.
Andy received both his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Master’s degree in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University.
Originally from upstate New York, he and his wife Katie currently reside in nearby Christopher.
