Bachelor of Science Technical Resource Management

Program:

  • Technical Resource Management (TRM) is a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree designed to prepare individuals with technical training and experience for career advancement into management and supervisory roles. Midwest Region Laborers’ Union apprenticeship graduates can build on their training to prepare themselves to be leaders in the union.
  • As a technical resource manager, the graduate can apply principles of planning, budgeting, job design, labor relations, and legal codes in order to effectively implement production or operational plans.
  • Proposed program specializations focus on career paths in high demand industries, including Health and Safety Management and Construction Management.
  • Apprenticeship training is evaluated and directly applied toward degree requirements. Completed post-secondary education, specialized formal training, and work experience may also qualify for credit.

Delivery:

Our goal is to make the program as accessible as possible to meet the needs of the Laborers' Union membership. Some course material may be taught by an instructor at the regional training facility, or via distance learning methods of online or video conference. Some courses will include a blend of face-to-face and distance learning. Given the technology involved, students must have computer access to the Web and possess fundamental computer skills.
