Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology
Program:
- This is an excellent major for students who want to develop a combination of technical and managerial career skills.
- Students will be trained in the high-demand technical and managerial areas of: six sigma, project management, lean manufacturing, industrial safety, quality control, personnel supervision, cost estimating, and computer-aided manufacturing.
- Typical job titles held by recent SIUC Industrial Technology graduates include: production supervisor, industrial specialist, quality engineer, safety coordinator, production control manager, maintenance supervisor, and process technician.
- Our Capstone Option makes it possible for students holding AAS degrees in a wide variety of industry-related fields (including Construction Management) to complete BS degree requirements within two years.
- Laborers, including those without associate degrees, with work related experience and/or occupational training might receive credit toward the degree. Additional flexibility in earning credit toward the degree is also possible.
Delivery:
Our goal is to make the programs as accessible as possible to meet the needs of the Laborer’s Union membership. Some course material may be taught by an instructor at the regional training facility, or via distance learning methods of online or video conference. Some courses will include a blend of face-to-face and distance learning. Given the technology involved, students must have computer access to the Web and possess fundamental computer skills.
