  • Air travel: American Connections regional commuter flights arrive at the Williamson County airport (618-993-3353) several times daily. The airport is located 16 miles east of campus, just off of interstate 57
  • Train travel: Amtrak provides rail services out of its Chicago hub
  • Bus travel: Greyhound offers bus service in and out of town.
  • BART (Bootheel Area Rapid Transit) is a shuttle service traveling between Lambert International Airport in St. Louis, Missouri (120 miles northwest of Carbondale - approximately 2 and 1/2 hours away) and the Southern Illinois region. Reaching the SIUC Campus

Take your best route to Illinois 13 which brings you to Carbondale. From Route 13 to SIUC:
  • Turn south on U.S. Route 51 (South University Avenue)
  • Continue south about 2 miles
  • Turn right on Lincoln Drive (at SIUC welcome sign)
